HOURS: 35-40 hours/week
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $20-$22/hour + Benefits + 3 Weeks Paid Vacation
JOB OVERVIEW: The successful applicant will undertake daily administrative and secretarial tasks, maintain parish records, and coordinate parish communications and events.

The closing date for submission of completed applications is April 12, 2024. The anticipated start date for this position is early June, upon which training and mentorship will commence.

QUALIFICATIONS
● 2+ years experience in a related secretarial/administrative position
● High School Graduate, Post Secondary Education considered an asset
● Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
● Proficient with computers, spreadsheets, payroll and accounting software
● Detail-oriented, deadline-aware, persistent, helpful, team-minded and personable
● Great customer service knowledge and skills
● Ability to maintain confidentiality

JOB DESCRIPTION - PARISH SECRETARY/BOOKEEPER
● Follow supervision directives of the pastor and leadership team
● Communication (answer phone calls, emails, schedule appointments, sacramental preparation liaison, and interact with parishioners in a courteous manner)
● Administrative Responsibilities (process donations, payments, payroll, church records, day to day accounting entries, diocesan and government filings)
● Organization (prepare weekly bulletin, order church supplies, schedule bookings,
collect mail, and related church ministries)
● Maintain a comprehensive filing system for all central parish files (mass stipends, cemetery reports and plots)
● Assist in the coordination of all funerals and communication with local Mortuaries, Cemeteries, and families
● Enter new parishioners into Parish Data System and maintain up to date parish
database
● Participate in Pastoral Staff Meetings and Retreats. Attend parish functions when possible
